L-Cysteine is a sulfur-containing amino acid that plays a large role in making the structure of collagen. I also helps generate glutathione, the master antioxidant that helps support detoxification and immune system function. L-Cysteine will help make proteins such as Metallothionein, which have the role of binding to heavy metals such as mercury, lead and cadmium. NOW^® L-Cysteine has added Vitamin C to help with collagen formation, and Vitamin B6 to aid glutathione production.

Adult Dosage: Take 1 tablet 1-3 times daily with water.

Each tablet contains:

L-Cysteine (from L-Cysteine Hydrochloride) 500 mg
Vitamin C (as Ascorbic Acid) 60 mg
Vitamin B-6 (from Pyridoxine Hydrochloride) 10 mg

Non-Medicinal Ingredients: Cellulose, Citric Acid, Silica, Magnesium Stearate (vegetable source), and Tablet Coating (water, hypromellose, stearic acid (vegetable source), and cellulose).

Consult a health care practitioner prior to use if you are taking nitroglycerin, acetaminophen, iron supplements or if you have gout. Do not use if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or have a history of kidney stones.
